Creative Philosophy
Nature + Humanity
I’m a mixed media fibre artist reimagining scenes from nature with free motion embroidery and tying them into my abstract paintings. They are inspired by the energy and relentless momentum I see all around me.
My concept is Nature + Humanity.
Nature is perfectly balanced and beautiful. Even dying things spend 100% of their energy to bring about the next generation. Everything is connected and flowing. Though the subjects I work with do not speak or show emotion, I imagine their words, their songs, their prayers, and their beauty on my canvas with my threads.
Nature + Humanity is not only about my art, but also I want it to have an impact in our world. Today’s world has many Nature x Humanity (Nature versus Humanity). How many bugs we can kill, how many fish we can catch, how fast we can raise animals… Humanity is interrupting this connection and flow. I hope to contribute to the conservation of nature through my art, envisioning a world where Nature + Humanity exist in harmony.
Without nature, we would not exist.
Without nature, art would never see the light of day.
Immersed in the natural world, my mind and body come alive, while a quiet awareness of its power settles in. Nature is beautiful, yet indifferent—and I hold deep respect for that truth.
Even the smallest individual actions can accumulate into meaningful change over time.
To bring my Nature + Humanity concept to life, I would like to introduce nature conservation organizations alongside my artworks to create a bridge between people and the vital work these groups do for nature. If my art can inspire people to support nature conservation and restoration, that would mean a lot to me. To support their efforts further, 5% of my profits will be donated to these organizations.
