Water is life, and all living things are drawn to it. Communities have always gathered around wells. Plants and mosses all come to where the water is, joining their neighbors and friends. They are beautiful together because they are not just one species. Around water, all the different “nationalities” exist together as one, and I can hear their joyous chatter.

Each crystal has its own personality formed by temperature and humidity as it falls through the air. A once-in-a-lifetime meeting, they come together and hold hands tightly. The community grows and celebrates its short life in making a beautiful white wonderland.

The ocean surf lays many things on beaches. A toddler picks up leaves and branches to display on rocks. The pure mind will reflect things as they are.
These are seaweeds that I found at Beresford Beach in New Brunswick, Canada.

Series : Hymn
Turkey tail mushrooms. They bloom on dead trees and stumps. When I found these mushrooms, I felt like they were singing a hymn for the tree. Their colors and shapes wrap around the tree’s dark dead bark. It is a solemn moment, played out in forest-time. I see them celebrating and praising a tree that lived until it spent all of its life force.

Series : Understory Oasis
These are mosses and plants that I found on a rockface at Fundy National Park in New Brunswick, Canada. On the hike to Dickson Falls, you walk through this understory oasis. In this microclimate, the air is unusually moist and the rocks are covered with tiny mosses and plants. They are lit up with the little sunlight that penetrates the forest canopy, where tiny stages produce grand theatre.
